Twitter Tips and Tricks for 2015
Engage: There are 5 million Tweets are posted every day!
- RT people who are using your hashtag
- Get your colleagues to RT your content
- Pick a unique hashtag to your brand
- Use DataMinr to check your Twitter analytics
- Use Tame.it to pick up hot topics and search for hashtags
- Use Geofeedia.com to expand your geotag searching, archive and analyze real-time social media
- Don’t overuse hashtags – you should use one per tweet and one that is simple to understand (or common language)
- Be unique in a hashtag
- You can find nearby news by typing near:Indianapolis or near:46204 (add a city or zip code without a space) in your search box
- Add the map marker (location) on your individual tweets if you’re looking for nearby influencers to follow and RT
- Experiment with the new feature of Twitter audio (now links to SoundCloud and iTunes); lots to listen to with @SoundCloud partners
- Watch for Twitter’s new video tool, which allows you to record and upload up to 30 seconds of video
- Engage in Twitter chats to boost your profile
- Find Twitter chat schedules through Tweet Reports, Twubs Chat Schedule, or read more on The Social CMO Blog
- It’s OK to publish a tweet without permission under Twitter’s Terms of Service, but you can’t divorce it from the user or original content
- People who use RT with something new in the conversation experience 50 percent more follower growth than those who don’t
- Photos make your content more likely to be shared and doubles your engagement
