I know the impact of social media can be startling, amusing, powerful and unpredictable. But I never knew it was so beloved that people are actually naming kids Facebook, until I watched a video made by Erik Qualman, author of Socialnomics.
Qualman is a social media zealot – the good kind who spreads the word and harnesses the power.
In his own promotional material, he’s listed as the Digital Dale Carnegie (odd & retro branding, but hopeful nonetheless).
He redubs “Word of Mouth” as “World of Mouth” and shares some amazing stats.
- Babies in Egypt have been named Facebook.
- If Facebook were a country, it would be the third largest.
- 69 percent of parents are “friends” with their kids on Facebook.
To check out all of Erik’s facts, read the post. Though dated, he actually sources his material (which we like).
Or watch the video.
